00:39 - Off a standing underhook, Luke works into a pinch headlock/over under position before completing the takedown by using his underhook to lift, spinning his opponent toward the side of his overhook.
01:17 - From butterfly half guard, the guard player takes a scoop grip on the far leg and turns to his back looking to enter the legs. Luke defends by switching his hips and backstepping off the butterfly hook.
01:26 - Luke is working to pass from a keymaster position. He gets a far side underhook before clearing the keymaster leg and using a cross knee cut to threaten the guard pass. Luke cuts his underhook elbow to the near side to enter a reverse tight waist to work around to north south. The defender turns to their knees to avoid the pin and Luke uses a top spin resulting in turtle.
01:43 - From turtle, Luke uses a straight knee block with a grip on the far ankle to break the defender down and take the back.
02:22 - From a seated head and arm, Luke pummels his feet into a 3-4 juji gatame.
03:01 - From a 3-4 juji gatame, Luke is using a top arm hug. He pushes the defender's grip up towards their own head as he falls to his shoulder. This creates americana type pressure to break the defensive grip and extend the arm threatening the arm bar. Luke is being nice, but the defender does a good job of pushing the top leg off his face allowing himself to sit up. Luke tries to apply breaking pressure over his top hip but the defender escapes.
03:15 - From a standing over under position, his opponent is leaning heavy on Luke's underhook making it hard for Luke to lift with it (as he did previously in the round.) Since his opponent's head is low, Luke uses it as an opportunity to enter the front headlock before quickly using a butt drag to go behind to turtle.
03:21 - From turtle, Luke is working to insert his hooks. He is trying to insert his far hook but the defender is preventing it. Luke then switches his attention to the near side, throwing his near hook all the way across to the far hip to lock up a body triangle to take the back.
04:48 - Luke is attacking from the back on the overhook side. He puts his hand in the armpit initially and is trying to thread his other arm in by the ear so he can free his hand in the armpit. However, the defender is keeping his shoulder close to his ear to prevent this. Luke then threatens a Ruotolotine with the goal of forcing the defender to bring their shoulder away from their own ear to alleviate the strangle pressure. This does not work but I like the idea. Eventually, Luke forces his hand in the gap, frees his arm from the armpit, and applies the successful mandible RNC.
05:42 - The attacker shoots in for a single leg but Luke defends by taking a high wrist arm in guillotine and gets the finish.
06:43 - From a standing body lock, Luke is defending with an overhook. He steps his foot in the middle and runs across looking for an ankle pick on the far side. It fails but separates the attacker's body lock and breaks them down to a knee resulting in the dogfight. He is then able to take top position successfully defending the standing body lock.
07:17 - From half guard, the guard player goes into a choi bar. Luke is immediately building posture to escape the hip step position as he turns the corner to escape and pass the guard into side control.
07:52 - Luke is attacking from twister side control with a reverse underhook and is sitting above the near arm. He is working to take an underhook to drive that arm across the center line to create back exposure. It does not work but I like the idea.
08:25 - Luke is attacking from side control. He gets an inside bicep tie on the far side and uses movement to work around into north south in dorsal as he pins the arm down with a shin pin .
08:43 - Luke is attacking from side control with a shin pin. The defender frees their arm from the shin pin but this gives Luke the ability to knee drive over to mount. A nice dilemma but the defender is able to trap the foot to recover to 3-4 mount.
08:49 - Luke is attacking from 3-4 mount. He uses a near side underhook and a far side head block to sit the defender up and is now working to take the back with no hooks from the underhook side.
09:13 - Luke is working to take the back with no hooks from the underhook side. He sits the defender up but they slip their head out to escape the back but Luke remains in top position in north south.
10:13 - The bottom player has an underhook from half guard. Luke takes a front head and arm and initially drives his knee across to the far hip to flatten the hips before he kicks out to pass the guard. The defender turns to their knees to avoid the pin resulting in the front headlock.
10:23 - Luke is attacking from turtle. He first looks to throw in his far hook but the defender prevents it so he switches his attention to the near side as he stands up a bit to throw in his near hook.
10:46 - Luke is attacking from north south. He takes a reverse underhook before moving into a twister side control.
12:19 - Luke is attacking from the back with his hand in the armpit. He is attacking with double overhooks and threads his hand in to free his hand in the armpit to lock up the mandible RNC for the finish.
13:41 - Luke is in a 4-point defending from the front headlock. The attacker works into a cradle. Luke slips his head out and the attacker tries to follow up with a single leg but Luke escapes resulting in him taking top position in the front headlock.
13:51 - From the front headlock, Luke grabs the far ankle to facilitate his go behind to turtle.
14:12 - Luke is attacking from turtle. The defender rolls over his near shoulder and Luke takes top position in side control. A good example of the back take vs pinning dilemma as the defender escaped the chest to back connection but accepted the pin in side control.
14:35 - Luke is working to make the cranial shift from side control. He is struggling to control the head and shoulders so he moves to north south to get a reverse underhook (a control he seems to favor in this round) before switching back to twister side control.
14:55 - Luke is attacking from twister side control. The defender slips their elbow inside to force Luke from a reverse underhook into a reverse crossface. It does give Luke the ability to threaten a kimura on the far side (which he tries) but the defender is able to off balance Luke overhead, forcing Luke to bail on the kimura and square his hips.
15:22 - Luke is attacking from twister side control with a reverse underhook. He is working on the near arm but the defender clears the reverse underhook forcing Luke into a reverse crossface. Luke follows by stepping over towards mount. When he mounts from twister side control with the near arm shelved on his hip, it results in the bottom player's arm being across their body. This allows Luke to follow up with modified chair sit to threaten the back take. The defender escapes an Luke enters spiderweb.
15:45 - Luke is attacking from spiderweb. The defender clears the torso leg but Luke has a kimura grip which he uses to take the back entering a rear top lock. However, the defender turns to their knees resulting in Luke taking top position in turtle with 1 hook.
15:57 - Luke is attacking from turtle with 1 hook. He brings his 1 hook across to the far hip and uses a hand assist to lock a body triangle to take the back.
16:43 - Luke is attacking from the back with double underhooks. He pulls the defender belly up and uses it to switch to the overhook side to get his hand in the armpit.
