00:00 - When trying to do a knee cut to pass the guard, we are often met with a strong knee shield by the guard player. As the top player, to get around the knee shield, we can post on their shoulder and their shin as we step over their knee shield leg putting ourselves in a butterfly half guard. Then, we switch sides and shuffle our feet as we leg drag their knee shield leg. If at any time the bottom player lets their knee drift away from their chest, we can enter the smash pass position. If they are doing the right thing, keeping their knee to their chest, then we will leg drag.

01:09 - From RDLR, the defender will likely look to control our free leg which. We can use this to our advantage to elevate our foot to take a straight grip on the top player's wrist by grabbing under their wrist. We can feed this into a cross grip so we can get outside their elbows to wrestle up with a single leg. He emphasizes that the initial grip on the wrist has to be under the wrist of the top player so the weakness of our grip leads them into our cross grip.

13:29 - Victor is attacking from side control with chest to back connection. He takes a kimura grip on the near arm of Austin and sits into a 3-4 juji gatame. As Austin turns into Victor, the 3-4 juji allows Victor to transition into an ankle sankaku to get the finish.

All Highlights

07:17 - Victor is working to pass the seated open guard. The guard player wrestles up with a single leg and Victor defends by initially taking an arm drag grip. Victor then transitions from the arm drag grip into an anaconda. He sits down to get the anaconda finish.
09:38 - Victor stands to defend from 50-50 but Austin uses it as an opportunity to transition into 70-30 before working into the baby bolo crab ride position. Austin uses it to wrestle up and take top position in turtle.
11:29 - Victor is attacking from the T-Kimura (kimura trap) but Austin defends by initially making their bodies parallel instead of perpendicular. This allows Austin to use the shin of his secondary leg to break the grip of Victor and escape.
11:50 - Victor is playing a seated open guard. Austin tries to run around to the outside but Victor has his foot on the outside of Austin preventing him from doing so. Austin keeps going in that direction and Victor is able to use an arm drag to wrestle up and take top position to complete the sweep.
12:02 - Victor is attacking from S-mount. He sits into juji-gatame to attack the arm bar and immediately hugs the leg of Austin. Austin is working to remove the crossface leg of Victor and turn into him to escape juji-gatame, but when his crossface leg is cleared, Victor takes a grip in the far armpit of Austin to take the back. Beautiful transition by Victor from the arm bar to the back.
12:47 - Austin is defending the arm bar from juji-gatame and has his arms locked in a figure 4 grip. He uses a bridge to put Victor's top hand on the mat before using a back roll to escape.
13:25 - Victor is working to pass from butterfly half guard. He pummels in a butterfly hook to pin the bottom leg of Austin. Victor then goes into a tripod posture and puts weight on his hands making his legs light. This allows him to use a back step to go into outside passing to pass the guard into side control where he has chest to back connection..
